In order to install iPodMiniWalker you have to:

• Copy the file iPodMiniWalker.saver to your boot disk, within the folder (Home)/Library/Screen Savers/
  If the folder (Home)/Library/Screen Savers/ doesn't exist yet, please create it.
  
• Then open your System Preference panel, go to the subpanel "ScreenSaver" and choose "iPodMiniWalker" from the screensavers list. Press the button Test to see the final result. That's all.
  
  
  Hot Keys (when the screensaver is running):
  ----------------------------------------
• 1-9  Activate one of the 9 the scrolling text files.
• 0     Don't show any scrolling text
• C     Rotate/Fix the background color.
• W      Activate/deactivate the wireframe view.
  
• ->    Press the 4 arrow-keys to increase the X and Y axes rotation speed of the iPodMini.
• R       Restore the original rotation speeds of the main laptop.
  
•           Press any other key or move the mouse to quit the screensaver.
  
  

• iPodMiniWalker can run a scrolling RTFD text file over the animation. Continuosly. This could be useful to leave a message to all the people who will see your screen while you are away. You can customize up to 9 RTF or RTFD text files with your own strings and graphics. Then, while the animation is running, you can quickly select the text file to play over the animation simply pressing the keys from 1 to 9. Press the key 0 (zero) to don't show any text. Also you can select the text to play in the "System Preferences:ScreenSaver:Option" panel from the pop-up "Run Text File".
  The RTFD text files can contain any kind of fonts with custom size, colors, styles, shadows and any kind of pasted graphics. In order to preserve the transparence of the pasted graphics, we suggest to firstly save the graphic files as png format to the desktop, then to drag the png file onto the RTFD text window. You can edit the RTF and RTFD text files with TextEdit application.
• The unregistered copies can run for 10 times max. After that iPodMiniWalker will run the animation for 15 seconds per time only. To register please go to http://order.kagi.com/?U3S

 About Registration top

Paying for the iPodMiniWalker is fairly simple: at the Kagi Web Store (quick, easy and secure payment on-line).

• To register on the web:
Go to the web page http://order.kagi.com/?U3S
1 - Choose the product and how many copies you want.
2 - Click on the button "Continue" and the invoice form will appear.
3 - Fill the fields regarding your name, email, address, Credit-Card data then click on the button "Purchase". That's all.
If your browser supports, you can switch on SSL secure payment form (SSL is the internet international standandard secure form of payment).

• After the registration:
Kagi (the company who handles our payment processing) will send you via email the approved invoice, in max 3 days (usually in few minutes if you paid by Credit Card). After that you will receive by us, via email, a little and stuffed TextFile (named "RegistrationFile.txt"). You have to unstuff the attachment and put the resulting text file "RegistrationFile.txt" on the desktop of your computer. Then simply run the screensaver. When running, the screensaver will copy the RegistrationFile.txt from the Desktop (if any) to the folder: (Home)/Library/Application Support/Softobe/iPodMiniWalker 1/
This way your copy will be unlocked and will run without any limitation.
You don't have to rename nor open nor modify the file RegistrationFile.txt. It contains encrypted data.
We use to send the "RegistrationFile.txt" within 24 hours (usually in few hours), so if you haven't heard anything after 3 days, most likely you have given an Invalid Email Address. If you didn't receive the Email from Kagi, please go to the Kagi web site and get information on your order. If you received the email from Kagi but you didn't receive the email from us (with the RegistrationFile.txt) please contact us at info@softobe.com providing your alternative email address (with a different domain).

 Don't forget to include your email address in the order. If you have not got one, send your friend's email address.
We cannot accept orders without your email, because we can only send by email the "RegistrationFile.txt" (which unlocks the shareware limitations).

Detailed Payment Info top

If paying with Credit Card or First Virtual, you can email or fax the data to Kagi. Their email address is sales@kagi.com and their fax number is +1 510 652-6589. You can either Copy the data from Register and paste into the body of an email message or you can Save the data to a file and you can attach that file to an email message. There is no need to compress the data file, it's already pretty small. If you have a fax modem, just Print the data to the Kagi fax number.

Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. You will receive an email acknowledgement when it is processed. Payments sent via fax take up to 10 days and if you provide a correct internet email address you will receive an email acknowledgement.

If you are paying with Cash or USD Cheque you should print the data using the Register application and send it to the address shown on the form, which is:

You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different countries but at present if you pay via cheque, it must be a cheque drawn in US Dollars. Kagi cannot accept cheques in other currencies.

If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all the data into the Register program and then select Invoice as your payment method. Print three copies of the form and send it to your accounts payable people. You might want to highlight the line that mentions that they must include a copy of the form with their payment.
Kagi can not invoice your company, you need to act on my behalf and generate the invoice and handle all the paperwork on your end.

Please do not fax or email payment forms that indicate Cash, Check or Invoice as the payment method. As far as we know, there is still no technology to transfer physical objects via fax or email and without the payment, the form cannot be processed.

Payments send via postal mail take time to reach Kagi and then up to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include a correct email address, you will hear from Kagi when the form is processed.

Softobe grants a free "limited trial version" of the software. The "limited trial version" allows to run the screensaver for max 10 times. After that you will be able to run it for 15 seconds max per launch. For a "full-run" version the user must be registered with Softobe with appropriate compensation and registration forms (see Pricing). Once registered, the user will receive by email a special file which turns the "limited trial version" in a "full-run version". Under no circumstances may the full-run version software be used unless the previously stated conditions have been satisfied. You must purchase a separate single user licence of the software for each Macintosh it is used on, or purchase a Site-Licence or a World-Licence.

Unless explicitly stated in writing, Softobe does not grant permission to distribute the software for profit in any form, including but not limited to, electronic information service distribution, bulletin board distribution, and magnetic or optical medium distribution. Non-profit distribution of the only "limited trial version" of the software is acceptable without prior written notice, providing that the software is not modified in any way, and the complete works of the software are included in the distribution package.

Softobe is not responsible for any damage to the purchaser's computer system or data and in no event will Softobe, its officers, directors, employees or agents be responsible to the purchaser for any consequential, incidental, or indirect damages (including damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information and the like) arising out of the use or inability to use the Softobe product, even if Softobe has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Because some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, the above limitations may not apply to you.
