Preferences

• 1) The tab General allows you to customize the interface.

• 2) The tab Text allows you to define the kinds of text file iPassepartout reads/displays and searchs by content.

You can open the Preference panel from the menu iPassepartout:Preferences. The Preferences panel grants two subpanels: General and Text.

• General
In the tab General you can change the way the items found list appears, like including/excluding the file icons, the progressive number of the files found and the rank column. In addition you can enable to play automatically, when selected, audio and/or movie files.

• Text
The tab Text (see picture 2 aside) allows you to define the way iPassepartout will display and will search within the text files.
iPassepartout will read/display only the content of the text files whose extensions or types are here listed. Also, while performing a search by content, iPassepartout will search only within the content of the text files whose extensions or types are here marked.

By default only some extensions are listed and activated. The default list includes (but not only) .txt and .rtf and .rtfd files.
For adding or removing Extension or Types, use the small buttons and positioned at the bottom of each table. Please note that adding a new item to the list doesn't guarantee that iPassepartout will display that kind of text file. Some text files in facts have their own and unknow format and iPassepartout cannot decrypt them. We already made iPassepartout read/display most of the Microsoft Word files (.doc) and we hope to do the same with the most used kinds of text files.
To reload the default list, quit the application, delete the file
(Home)/Library/Preferences/com.softobe.iPassepartout.plist
and relaunch the application. You will lose any custom addition you made on the previous list.
